Important Legal Information About Our Notary Services
Not an Attorney Disclosure
"I am not an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Missouri, and I am not allowed to draft legal documents, give legal advice, or accept fees for legal advice."
This disclosure is required by Missouri state law for all notaries public. Premier Notary & Apostille Services, LLC does not and cannot provide legal advice or legal representation.
Scope of Notarial Services
- We verify the identity of document signers through acceptable identification
- We witness signatures and administer oaths or affirmations as authorized by law
- We complete notarial certificates according to state requirements
- We maintain a record of all notarial acts in our official journal
What We Cannot Do
- ✗Draft legal documents or provide legal forms
- ✗Advise you on the legal effects of documents
- ✗Represent you in legal proceedings
- ✗Interpret legal terminology or provisions
- ✗Recommend what type of notarial act is appropriate for your situation
- ✗Notarize documents if we have a financial or personal interest in the transaction
Right to Refuse Service
A notary public may refuse to perform a notarial act if:
- The signer cannot be properly identified
- The signer appears to be coerced or under duress
- The signer does not appear to understand the document
- The notary has reason to believe the transaction is fraudulent
- The document is incomplete or contains blank spaces intended to be filled after notarization
Your Responsibility
As the document signer, you are responsible for understanding the content and legal consequences of any document you sign. If you have questions about the legal effect of a document, you should consult with a licensed attorney before signing.
Privacy & Confidentiality
All documents presented for notarization are treated with strict confidentiality. We do not retain copies of your documents unless required by law. Our notarial journal entries are maintained securely and are only disclosed as required by court order or applicable law.
Notary Bond & Insurance
Our notaries maintain the required bond and errors & omissions insurance as mandated by Missouri state law. This coverage protects against financial loss resulting from errors in the performance of notarial acts.
Limitation of Liability
Premier Notary & Apostille Services, LLC is not liable for the legal effect, validity, or enforceability of any document notarized. Our role is strictly limited to verifying identity and witnessing signatures in accordance with Missouri notary laws.
Missouri Revised Statutes
Our notarial services are governed by Missouri Revised Statutes, Chapter 486 — Notaries Public. All notarial acts are performed in compliance with these statutes and any subsequent amendments.
This disclaimer is effective as of January 1, 2025, and applies to all notarial services provided by Premier Notary & Apostille Services, LLC. This disclaimer may be updated periodically to reflect changes in law or business practices.
